It was back in 2004 that Dove first launched its Real Beauty Campaign aimed at changing society's accepted standards of beauty. Dove's models have realistic proportions, showcasing how beautiful women of all shapes and sizes are. You might remember one ad in particular that accentuated the unrealistic and even unhealthy sizes of Victoria's Secret models in comparison to Dove's. Photoshop is often used to exaggerate and warp women's bodies into looking unnatural and adhering to impossibly high standards of beauty. Artist Nickolay Lamm and collaborating artist Nikolett Mérész decided to use photoshop to do good instead. After seeing the viral photo of Barbie without makeup by Eddi Aguirre, Lamm wanted to create more realistic versions of the more popular dolls.
