Networks have this really unfortunate habit of making it difficult to love television. So many of the best shows have a tendency to hang out on the chopping block for several seasons, and while some survive, others are taken off the air far too soon. 2013 has seen the cancellation of some really great comedies including Ben & Kate, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, and now HBO's Enlightened. All three of these shows attracted cult followings, yet acclaim still isn't enough to keep good...
Tyler Oakley is a blogger, vlogger, and self-proclaimed “professional fangirl.” He loves Taco Bell, One Direction, Lady Gaga, and twerking (just to name a few.) His Tumblr is one of the only ones I follow because it is PURE GOLD. It mostly consists of hilarious gifs, videos, and photos, but also a ton of actually cool things like this inspiring video and this moving story. When asked about the shots, Stein reflected, “There was a lot of cool stuff happening in the late 70s and I was lucky enough to be in the middle of it with a camera.  Posting...
One word: Oprah. One conference: Women in the World 2013. As if Oprah wasn’t enough of a draw-card, this New York City conference on April 4th and 5th has so many amazing speakers that it seems almost unbelievable. The conference will focus on global issues told through the powerful form of first person storytelling. On Friday, Oprah Winfrey will be interviewing her “all time favorite guest,” Dr. Tererai Trent. Dr. Trent is revolutionizing education for women and girls across Africa. A few hours later, Tom Hanks will be...
