BUST Magazine Craftacular Pop-up Shop: tonight's the third night of the enchanted forest of curiosities BUST pop-up shop. Get out of the cold and into the warmth with free hot chocolate and cookies, X-Mas music, and free gifts with purchase. Still looking for a great present but don't wanna go to the mall? Check out the shop, featuring handmade items from some of our most awesome vendors, including Casa Helecho's beautiful hanging terrariums and Susan Helene's handmade jewelry, using Venetian glass beads, healing gemstones and glass.

The names of 60 sex workers who were murdered in 2010 will be read aloud at candlelight vigils across the world on Friday.  Sixty is a conservative estimate, violence against those in the sex worker community more often than not goes undocumented, unreported, unnoticed.  Often we don’t hear about it until it is too late for anything other than tabloid headlines, until there is a body left my the roadside, stuffed in a drainpipe or tossed from a car.

The Bushwick Bike Shop is having a Ladies Only Mechanic Night on Dec 18th from 6-8. This is a great way for Brooklyn girls to learn more about their bikes and give the boys a run for their money- 'bout time! The workshops are being taught by KT Higgins, who was named the Best Bike Mechanic in NYC by NY Magazine. So, get out there and rep-re-sent! BUST has partnered with Hendricks Gin and Gallery 151 to host a sunset shopping spree from Monday, December 13th to Saturday, December 18th. Finish all your holiday shopping in one location down on the Bowery. We'll be open for shoppers from 4pm to 9pm daily with Hendricks Gin cocktails available on certain nights. Besides being an awesome shop, the setting will be a beautiful, tree-stump and toadstool-covered magical forest art installation.

Guess what I've been listening to non-stop for the past 24 hours? Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and Julie Ruin. Guess why? Because I was one of the lucky few to score entry into the Kathleen Hanna tribute show and documentary taping that took place at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn the other night. The in-progress documentary is called  The Kathleen Hanna Project a.k.

This weekend marked the first-ever TEDWomen conference, dedicated to exploring how women and girls are reshaping the future.
