Paula Scher, one of the key players and leading ladies of graphic design (she is the first and currently the only female partner at design firm Pentagram), likes to paint really big and really intricate maps. The sizes of the maps alone are impressive (some are as tall as 12 feet) but it's the obsessiveness over the details that's really stunning. Scher's maps are made up entirely of words and packed with an insane amount of information; continents and oceans swirl with flight paths, neighborhoods, and time zones.

The Get Go are the first all-female Maude sketch comedy team at Los Angeles' UCB Theatre (and feature former BUST intern Jessica Jardine!).  In their latest video, "Sexxxy Picnic," the combination of girls, food, and a couple of pervs in a park is a recipe for, um, well...you'll see: [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiBxd0Fuh8o&feature=related 425x344] In fact, the baked beans shower is something you can never un-see. I lost it at the tiny handwich, but the whole thing is brilliant (love/hate the tons of grossed-out, disappointed dudes in the comments section).

Just when I think I can't love Tina Fey any more than I already do, she up and goes and does something to make me love her even harder. In this case, she hosts a 2-hour NPR special called "The Hidden World of Girls." It is so good that I really wish she could have her own series, like a female Ira Glass. Unfortunately, I don't think NPR gives anyone their own show unless they have two things: a shween and a speech impediment. But enough about that.

In random beauty and fashion news, Iggy Pop is officially the face of Paco Rabanne's newest fragrances, Black XS L’Excès. The fragrances will include versions for both men and women and will debut in France starting in January. The highly-anticipated commercial featuring Iggy and created by seasoned music video director, Jonas Ackerlund, will soon be appearing on TV and in movie theaters alike.  I like how menacing Iggy looks in this photo. I have no idea what this fragrance will smell like, but I'm totally sold already. Maybe it's those magical gold pants he's wearing..

There's so many street style blogs out there, it's hard to know which ones are best so when I find a really good one, I definitely try and keep up with it. TheSFStyle.com is one of my favorites. Run by JT Tran and Dyanna Dawson, the site is filled with lovely lady and handsome man "morsels" galore from two of my favorite cities, San Francisco and New York! I run a street style blog of my own, The Rebel Waltz, but I've definitely neglected it in favor of my personal style blog.

While it is sad but true that Halloween has passed, we can still get creative with our wardrobes all year long. If you are in on the tights trend that shows no signs of dissipating, you're in luck. Our very own BUST staffer Callie got together with XO Jane staffer Madeline and showed her how to create some bright, fun DIY tie-dye tights from the tutorial included in The BUST DIY Guide to Life. Read all about their crafty meeting--part pizza party, part tie-dye extravaganza--here. DIY tie-dye tights can be bright, fun, dark, eerie...

According to style.com's Fall 2011 Trend Report, the top trends for this season are: Collage Studies, Color Forms, Parka City, Psychedelic Furs, Sixties Minutes, Spotty Service, and Tux Love. While all my BUSTies and me love to move with the trends, it can be hard to get a runway look on a working-girl budget. I want to help my fellow bargain-hunting fashionistas get a great deal on a runway look.

How are you feeling? A recent study revealed that 53 percent of women say their overall health is in poor shape, so it might be safe to assume you're not feeling so hot. A study called A Fragile Nation in Poor Health conducted by the health communications firm TeleVox, recently polled 1,015 American across the country about how they feel about their health.  More than half of the women polled say they feel unhealthy and one in five nationwide say they are struggling to be healthy.

I’ve been interning at a talent agency for the past few months, listening in on the thought processes of the people who help decide who becomes famous. This agency most recently wrapped up a job where they had to hire women who were “it” to appear in an ad. “It” is a pretty abstract quality, and that’s what “it” banks on. You aren’t supposed to be able to trace “it.” “It” is elusive, best described by the more abstract, je ne sais quoi.

I have a friend who keeps telling me that cats invented the Internet and I’m starting to believe him. Every blog or tumblr worth checking out always has something to do with cats. Case in point, Lolcats, the site that just lets you look at cats doing hilarious, adorable things all day long. But maybe you want something more specific. Maybe you want to see cats that look like pirates or maybe Hitler or Parks And Recreation’s Ron Swanson. It’s all out there! You don’t even have to search that hard to find it.
