“I bet when you’re 10 you’ll love pink, and you’ll love princesses,” said Pippa Middleton to a 6 year old who said she was a sort of tomboy and liked things that “boys like.” Sigh.  The event was a promotion for Pippa’s new party-planning book “Celebrate.”  (I wonder if it’s got gender specific themed parties?) She let reporters film a craft session with costumed kids while she wore plain clothes. WOW.

Having lived on the east coast my whole life, I think I know how to handle a hurricane. Just when I thought we were in the clear for this year’s hurricane season, along comes Sandy in her modest cardigan and purity ring, ready to cause some trouble at Rydell High (and by Rydell High I mean the Mid-Atlantic). This hybrid storm, (“part tropical, all beast” as the Philadelphia Inquirer put it) comes just days ahead of Halloween, much like the early nor’easter we saw last year around this time.

Today is the last day to apply for either one of our upcoming Craftaculars! It only takes a few minutes, and the application fee is a bargain at $10.  Hey, we're even willing to let you get your application in by the end of the weekend if you need more time to blow our minds with your handcrafted goodies. The BUST Magazine Craftacular and Food Fair Holiday 2012 will take place on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd at 82 Mercer St. in SoHo, New York.

As it turns out, Disney’s Princess Sofia that I wrote about last week is not Latina.  As a refresher, Jamie Mitchell, producer of the TV show “Sofia the First,” said at a press conference that Sofia was Latina, after a question from a blogger as to why Sofia’s mom has darker skin.  Now, Nancy Kanter, Disney Junior Worldwide’s senior vice president of original programming and general manager, says that producer Mitchell “misspoke.

The always-controversial Lena Dunham strikes again with a new campaign ad for Barack Obama, in which she compares voting for the first time to losing your virginity. In the video, called “Your First Time,” Lena says, “Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy.” She goes on to list reasons to vote for Obama: health insurance, access to birth control, bringing the troops home from Iraq, the Lilly Ledbetter Act, and gay marriage. “My first time voting was amazing,” Lena says. “It was this line in the sand. Before, I was a girl.

If you haven’t already heard, Bic now has a line of pens “For Her,” and the only thing that sets them apart from all their other pens is that they are pink and purple.  Yet, they are twice the price of normal pens.   I know.   Even better though, Bic actually had the gall to ask awesome feminist Ellen DeGeneres to be their spokesperson for these lady pens, and asked her to be in a commercial, which Ellen said on her show “outraged” her, then went on to satirized the product and the company’s decision to make them.

I'm broke. You're broke. But luckily, a low-balance bank account is no obstacle to ogling some badass shoes. And you can feel good about putting these puppies on your wish list, because all of these crazy-cool shoes are more than just mere footwear. Why have shoes when you can have SUPER SHOES?   Jeffrey Campbell Heelies, $199.95   Dropping $200 on MOTHEREFFING HEELIE SLINGBACKS is a responsible investment. Hear me out! One: Jeffy Campbs are built to last. Two: Seventies flatforms are on-trend and totes wearable in fall with opaque tights. Three: WHEELZ.

I was first introduced to funny lady (and generally awesome human being) Tina Fey during the 2008 election season. Her hilariously dead-on impressions of Sarah Palin never failed to put my racing 19-year-old mind at ease. Little did I know that in 2012, our rights to safe and legal abortions, affordable birth control, and equal pay would be at stake. Clearly, we still need our Tina. Enraged by the vomit-inducing rape comments made by Republican politicians, Fey struck back…hard.

What with the street style bloggers crawling over every corner of the Internet, it seems as though the next-level creeping was bound to happen eventually. This latest incarnation of style stalking is through a camera linked to the Internet, uploading shots of passerby in real time from, naturally, Brooklyn, New York. The camera snapping shots of passers-by is located along Williamsburg’s Bedford Avenue, and is motion activated, so anyone and everyone walking by is showcased on the blog, called Styleblaster, to be judged by all.

This might be the creepiest documentary ever.  An Australian documentary team has auctioned off the virginities of a man and a woman known as Alexander and Catarina. The bidding, which took place on a website called Virgins Wanted, began on September 17 and closed on October 24. Catarina had 15 bids ranging from $1 to the winning $780,000, from a Japanese man called “Natsu.” Alexander had 8 bids ranging from $1,000 to the winning $3,000, from a Brazilian woman called “Nene B.
