On Monday night, comedian/actress Jane Lynch tried her hand at celebrity-interviewing when she filled in on Piers Morgan Tonight. Aside from making me wish she hosted a talk show on CNN instead of panders-to-women Piers Morgan, she interviewed Joan Rivers, and together (after Rivers admitted, of politicians, that she “hates them all”) they touched on certain issues in politics today.

Frontwoman, bassist, producer, painter, music video director, designer, mom, and certified badass are pretty sweet gigs to have in your repertoire. Now, Sonic Youth founding member Kim Gordon dishes on her latest project, a 12-piece collection she collaborated on with Dorothée Loermann of clothing label Surface To Air.

I could go on for hours about the annoyances of having long hair: having to specially schedule time to wash my hair every week, making sure to tie it up every night to prevent knots, dealing with the jungle of knots that develop in spite of my tying it back the night before…I’ll spare you all the rest of my grievances.

Early into last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, something crossed my mind that I almost dare not speak aloud. During the mini challenge, as the queens were throwing shade at one another and nearly all of them were terrible at it, this thought started forming. Today I will get out my library card (because reading is fundamental), and throw some of my own shade: maybe none of these queens are actually worthy of the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. Blasphemous? Maybe. But consider the evidence.

Restock your liquor cabinets and bust out your favorite bouffant hairdo, because Mad Men returns to TV on March 25! AMC’s mega hit has been in off-season for over a year, and the wait for season 5 has been unbearable.

I'm no Little Monster, but I do love Lady Gaga--almost as much as I love feminist history. The ladies at Soomo Publishing must have known that when they released this spoof of "Bad Romance," starring an actress playing legendary feminist Alice Paul. She implores the United States government to give women the vote while wearing a getup that combines her era's fashion with a very Gaga-esque full-face lace mask.

A year ago, Amnesty International reported that several of the women who were arrested at the protest in Tahrir Square in Egypt were beaten, shocked, and strip-searched while being photographed, threatened with prostitution charges, and subjected to virginity tests.   Today, Democracy Now! reports that an Egyptian military court just acquitted an army doctor for one of these forced virginity tests, and this ruling has human rights organizations (rightfully) up in arms.

Most of my daily activities require me to behave as if I'm far more mature than I actually am. Taking the subway without giggling at other peoples’ conversations or engaging in staring contests with small children: definitely a struggle. So when I stumble across something that elicits adolescent squeals of joy from my inner pre-teen, I have to share it. Enter this Tumblr: #whatshouldwecallme. A collection of gifs set to scenarios, they are spot on and hilarious. Here, just a taste of the magic that awaits:           Image source you-win-the-internet.

Sexist jokes are seldom legitimately funny, but they do get attention, as is proven by these chinos from Madhouse, a British discount clothing chain. Their pants' labels provide detailed washing and drying instructions, and under them, in bold letters, state, “OR GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN IT’S HER JOB”. As our girlfriend Amy Poehler would say: "Really???"   Not only is this label rude, but it's unclear.

When Natural Gourmet Institute grad Chloe Coscarelli became the first vegan chef to ever win Food Network’s Cupcake Wars last year, I had a hunch a cookbook deal wouldn’t be far behind. And now that her debut recipe collection Chloe’s Kitchen (Free Press) is finally here, it’s clear that her winning ways don’t begin and end with dessert. First off, the book is absolutely lovely to look at. Big, full-color photos of sumptuous, cruelty-free cuisine and an airy, easy-to-read layout made me want to dive right in.
