Rumplestiltskin and Belle had quite an interesting beginning in Season One, as they were Beauty and the Beast. I absolutely worship Rumbelle, and was thrilled to see another episode about this power couple. Rumple is one of the most mysterious characters, and this episode finally revealed some information about him. The episode begins in Storybrooke with Belle having doubts about Rumple and concerns about if he’s really going to change or keep using magic to control others. She sets out to explore Storybrooke without telling Rumple, and...
There's no denying that homophobia (and all kinds of phobias, for that matter) runs rampant in the Twitter-verse. Last week alone, NoHomophobes.com, a website dedicated to exposing homophobic Twitter users, noted that 218,477 tweets contained the slur "faggot". I recently caught Beats Antique at The Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans. The all-instrumental band, comprised of David Satori (guitar, viola, and percussion), Tommy Cappel (keys, percussion), and Zoe Jakes (belly dancer, composer, and producer) fuses Middle Eastern tribal sounds with experimental world music and electronica. Lynx, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colorado, was the opening act and wowed the crowd with her electronic folk-pop melodies, timelessly lovely voice, and intense beat-boxing skills. Katey Red, a New Orleans native credited with originating Bounce music, also brought...

November is National Novel Writing Month, and NaNoWriMo will help you crank out a 50,000-word novel by the last day. Register on their website and get set up with a bunch of awesome and helpful resources, including email pep talks from successful writers, forums to chat (or whine) with other NaNoWriMo participants, and compare your word count (if you're into that whole competitive thing). And it's not all...
