I know I've geeked out about these boys in the past, but for serious, I can't imagine a better time to monster mash with Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears than at the Scaryville Circus Halloween party in Brooklyn!  Acts will also include a burlesque show, sword juggling, graffiti writers, fire twirling, and much more! Admission is only 10 bones, which also comes with an open bar sponsored by Bluepoint Brewery and Sweet Leaf Tea.
Check it out ladies. Poker ain't just a game for guys (well, uh..duh). We're smarties here at BUST, and we've known it for a long time (Dec/Jan issue 2006). But lately, more and more gals have become known for their poker fame. Namely, Stephanie Morgan, a professional card player. She teamed up with Hands-On Mobile and World Poker Tour (think ESPN) and helped create one of the most popular mobile franchises, the World Poker Tour products and applications.
My college offered an elective scuba diving class at night, and this one dude I went to school  with, took it, and he told me once that he liked to "get all stoned and look at all the pretty colors from under water." I never really understood that until now. From the creators of the international hit De La Guarda, Fuerzabruta ("Brute Force") hit NYC on October 11th. I was in attendance for this brand new original production which I can only compare to a crazy acid trip, but so much cooler, and sans drugs, of course. This isn't your typical theatrical experience.
We loved the M.I.A. show in NYC this weekend, she was in full force, with awesome video backdrops, and she slayed the audience! If she is coming to your town, you owe to yourself to see her show-I promise you will not be disappointed!  here is her new video for Jimmy.
I'd been thinking alot about how funny Fred Armisen is when I got this link yesterday to some weird drumming cd he has coming out on Drag City, I think its a joke but maybe not? Anyway today Jezebel had a link to this hilarious video with Carrie Brownstein (from Sleater Kinney) and Fred calld Feminist Bookstore.
This YouTube gem has been hanging around for about a year, but I never seem to get tired of it. Sometimes I'll be walking down the street, and I'll get a Miss Cleo flashback. It just feels good.
This just in! Our favorite cheeseball connoisseur, Amy Sedaris, will be signing her comedy cookbook, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence, at this year's Craftacular!!! If we're lucky, she'll bake some cupcakes and teach us how to properly clean out our bongs. If your dorky relatives are visiting that weekend, ditch 'em!BUST Magazine Holiday Craftacular Saturday, December 8, 200710am - 8pm@ The Metropolitan Pavilion, NYCP to the S, It's not to late to apply as a vendor for the Craftacular! This Sat I got to go to see Keisha Cole and Eve at the Rock Corps concert. I felt kind of dirty being there since everyone else had to volunteer 4 hours of community service to get a ticket. But whatever I needed to see Keisha Cole! No tickets were sold, the only way to get in was to work it out (unless you got the press hook up!). I am sure it was worth all the hours of fence painting and weed pulling because the show was a radio rap explosion, and I have a soft spot in my heart for catchy radio rap songs.
See skaters from all four GGRD home teams line up against the All-Stars from one of Gotham's sister leagues out West when the nationally ranked "Wheels of Justice" all-star team from the Rose City Rollers (Portland, OR) land on our home soil on October 13th at City College of New York's Nat Holman Gym.
