UPDATE!! The show has been moved to Hope St at Roebling. One Hope Cafe.   After the Spring Fling Craftacular rock the Unofficial After Prom Party at 1 hope st, One Hope Cafe. The party is a benefit for some real rightious babes and dudes who's house burnt down last week. The space was home to several of the girls behind the Lady Circus as well as one of the founders of Holla Back NYC, which we wrote about in BUST some time ago (BUST's own Emily Rems is one of the sites Holla Back Models!) If you can't make it to the show you can donate money here.
Adorable, witty, and charming letterpress prints! Each item is individually cranked through a vandercook press by Rebecca of Rar Rar Press. We're absolutely stoked she'll be with us at the Spring Fling Craftacular! Here are a few of my favs...
I'm don't know how else to describe jewelry designer Vera Balyura of VeraMeat as anything but charming, talented, and totally adorable. Think of snippets from your childhood imagination and then cast them into silver and gold- that's what her designs look like. Cowboys, and robots, and astronauts! Oh my! Vegetarian dino charm? She's got that one covered as well. Ah-mazing.
BUST's Spring Fling Craftacular is going to be so totally fresh! Sponsored by The Frisky, the Spring Fling Craftacular will feature over 50 crafters from across the country offering the very best in handmade wares. But BUST’s Spring Fling Craftacular is not just another craft fair, it is also an all-day party with an entire room set aside for dancing and mingling. Our Craftacular DJs will put the spring in your step, spinning all your favorite jams from the ‘90s all day and into the night for a prom-themed dance.
Now that fanny packs are no longer just for German tourists and roller bladers, you can get one of these sweet sacks designed by our favorite Graffiti girl, Claw Money. She designed an 8 piece line for Boosted, that include a laptop case, a tote and a duffle and various other sized bags. These are what you put your mobile devices in, or your weed. I love the gold details, plus they are faux leather so very nice for the animal lovers out there. Claw is one talented lady, and this is just one of the many projects this gal has going on. Check out this short bio of her below.
Sodafine, one of my fave stores in Brooklyn, is having a Trunk show/Sidewalk sale this Saturday so if you’re in New York, swing by! The designers from Dear Birthday, Popomomo, and SDN (love them!) will be there giving shoppers a sneak peek at fall designs. There will also be sale items! And snacks! In addition to being super awesome in general, Sodafine also stocks recent BUST fashionista gals, San Francisco-based She-bible. Shop till you drop.
There seems to be an abundance of good music coming from the Continent these days, with Duffy and Adele from the UK, Yelle and Uffie from France, and these guys (also from the UK) which are on heavy rotation here at the office.
In the battle to be the next Amy Winehouse two contestants have emerged as frontrunners.
Before I start with the rap talk take this in:  BUST Magazine is proud to present “The Hysterical Festival Fundraiser”! Read all about the Hysterical Festival here.
