(Photo by Reuters)Can you imagine that in this day and age it took a man two years, one sexual discrimination lawsuit and a change in California law to win the right to use his wife's last name? Thanks to the perseverence of the Diana and Micheal (nee Buday) Bijon, with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union, Californian men now have the option to take their wives name in marriage-a privilege still verboten in 40 other states. Read more at this Yahoo.com article about the happy couple.

I am always on the hunt for vintage specs, and recently had to replace my beloved frames because I stupidly dropped them. So the hunt was on, and I searched the city for months for the perfect pair. I finally found a sweet pair of vintage YSLs that are very early 80’s Sophia Loren, and I found them at Siver Lining Opticians in Soho. The guys running this cute eyewear shop, Jordan Silver and Erik Sacher are friendly as can be, very knowledgeable and patient with the slow decider.

It's no secret that indie published, BUST Magazine has been a part of the punk rock DIY movement for years.  What rocks our socks off are the amazing support that we've received from established companies from the crafting community like JANOME!  We can't thank JANOME and their resident kick ass crafty lady, Miss Kira DeLong for rockin' and sponsoring the DIY corsage station at BUST's first ever springtime Craftacular.  Kira has been a long time reader of BUST and besides being a sewing rock star, she's been performing and touring in punk bands for years too.
Harmony Korine’s new film “Mr. Lonely” opens this weekend, and it’s pretty good. Starring Diego Luna as a Michael Jackson impersonator, it’s probably the artiest art film I’ve seen in a while. The story follows Michael in Paris, where he meets a Marilyn Monroe impersonator played by the always amazing Samantha Morton. They go to Scotland to live on a commune with a bunch of other impersonators, and tragedy ensues. There is also a seemingly unrelated side story about nuns that jump out of planes flown by one of my heroes, Werner Herzog.

OK, Callie turned us on to this Florida rapper Riskay awhile ago, and now she's got a video for everyones favorite song about that worrisome cheating boyfirend. The chorus is ridiculoulsy catchy, I promise if you hear this at least once, you wiil not be able to get it out of your head. NY Magazine calls it an instant classic. Check out Callie's interview with Riskay in the June issue of BUST, on newsstands in a few weeks.
