This is just too good. I love the Drapers and I love the Simpsons, got this today from Videogum.
Over the past two months the organization Women Against Palin has received almost 200,000 letters from women expressing why they think Palin is wrong for America. Today many of these letters will be read aloud via live web stream from 1-9pm. Hear what these women have to say at http://womenrespondtopalin.com . Or visit http://www.womenagainstsarahpalin.blogspot.com/ for more information on why Palin is the wrong choice.
Hello to all you art lovers out there, please do yourselves a favor and check out www.littlepaperplanes.com ! This San Francisco based sight was started by painter Kelly Lynn Jones in 2004 and includes a diverse group of artists and designers from all over. You can find beautiful hand made books and zines, clothing, jewelry, bags, and most importantly incredibly cheap high quality prints (both digital and hand made) that make owning a piece of art accessible to all.
Illustrator Samantha Hahn has made some totally adorable Halloween cards you can download and print, or email to all your pals for free. It's like trick or treating, without the sugar crash.
For those of you who haven't seen the Daily Show episode, Samantha Bee's take on McCain's comments about women's health during the last presidential debate is hilarious! Bee may be making fun of McCain, but her jokes have a point, so click above to watch.
I have a new art crush. Joelle Jones won me over in about .2 seconds with her work on this newest Minx graphic novel. I must admit I feel a kinship with the protagonist, Shira, a curvy Jewish girl with short hair, retro style, and a closer relationship with her grandmother's best friend than with girls her own age. Alisa Kwitney 's story is a typical high-school love tale but it's got heart, a winning character (and I swear I'm not saying that because she reminds me of me), and a fun setting--Miami Beach in the 1980s. But I really, really love this book for the art.
How effing cute is this? Seriously. I can't stop giggling and I don't really want to. Shakesville has compiled a bunch of pictures of little girls in awe of Obama. Go, look, smile. They are all totally adorable.
OMG, I have totally been Etsy-fied!!! Check out my favorite picks as this week's featured buyer. All the awesome handmade goods are from past Craftacular vendors and are just a teeny-tiny sampling of what you'll find at this year's events in...wait for it...New York City, Los Angeles, AND London! We're still accepting vendor submissions so get your app in today.   P.S.
YOU'VE JUST BEEN RICK ROLL'D.
Nate Hill has been sewing together body parts for the last six months, but not in a Silence of the Lambs people-jacket sort of way. He's an artist using animal parts to create a life-sized female body for his newest project, called E.V.E. (Earthly View of Eden). The companion to his A.D.A.M. Project will be on display in a Halloween show at The Silent Barn. What better way to celebrate the holiday? More information at http://www.stoproadkill.
