I still don't know what hit me, even two days after experiencing all that is a Quintron and Miss Pussycat show. The New Orleans-based art rockers (which essentially consists of a one-man band and a Maraca-playing backup singer) played Santos Party House, the NYC venue owned by previous BUST Boy du Jour, Andrew W.K. He was the host with the most Monday night, and did his best to hawk the $4 Budweiser specials to a packed house. Here he is, looking snazzy in what a girl next to me noted as possibly trousers from Men's Warehouse. Good call, they were pleated and everything. Imagining A.W.K.

The very serious aftermath of thousands of Obama supporters who now have nothing to talk about...also, be sure to read the news ticker scrolling at the bottom of the video. Genius.

Seems like every teenage girl in America is crazy for the Twilight books and the movie that's being released in a few weeks, a quick search of the internets and you will find thousands of fan sites for the sexy vampire Edward and his family of blood suckers. But what is it about this genre and especially this series that appeals to their moms as well? I found one site that was particularly fascinating, TwilightMoms.com , run by...wait for it... a Mormon mom who's 'life has been turned upside down' as a cause of the books.

Even after an election week rife with the almost ethereal reality of change (save, of course, for these soul-crushing blows in California, Florida and Arizona), the story of one small-town Oregon mayoral race glimmers with a special sort of triumph. Silverton, Oregon, population 9588, has just elected America's first openly transgender-identified mayor. His name is Stu Rasmussen--and yes, he uses male pronouns. He's also been known to refer to himself as a heterosexual dude, albeit one with breast implants and a wild mane of auburn hair.

What better way to depict the terrifying downward spiral of mental illness than in a graphic novel? Nate Powell 's story of a brother and sister dealing with schizophrenia is both heartrending and beautiful. Ruth and Perry are both haunted by visions and compulsions, but as they grow older one gets worse and one gets better. Powell's art captures the loss of control and the visions of the characters in surrealist black-and-white, rendering even a frog and the grandmother sinister and threatening.

I'm so sick of reading about the distaste that some idiots had on Michelle Obama 's outfit on the night of her husband's historical victory. As I saw it, the modified version of the Narcisco Rodriguez's dress was showing off her confidence in not being pigeonholed into wearing those lame-ass, boring suit-dresses. We still have ways to go, but I think it's awesome that powerful women are getting closer to be being on the same playing field as men, but why do they have to dress like them too? We all know that Michelle is incredibly intelligent, successful and naturally gorgeous.
