I love bacon, it is in my top two favorite foods, coming up second to steak and cheese sandwiches. Put bacon on a steak and cheese and I am going to try to hump your leg. Needless to say, I could not have been more excited to go to a bacon and beer tasting at Jimmy's no. 43. I went to a craft beer tasting for women there awhile ago and L-O-V-E-D it. Read on bacon heads for my top picks andbacon tips. Oh and the pic to the left is a bacon scarf ! Mama wants! The host this time was Josh Ozersky, a James Beard Award winning food writer who sometimes uses the nom de plume 'Mr. Cutlets'.

If you are like me, you hear about or see ads for the special designer collections that Target puts out, but often when you actually get to a Target, all the good stuff is gone! Well, if you happen to be in NYC this weekend, check out one of the 4 Bullseye Bodega Pop Up stores that Target has sprinkled around town, and get ready to spend a few bones on some cheap yet stylish stuff.

If any of you have been reading this bloghole for long enough, you know that 99.9% of my posts are about (my boyfriend) TV. And while the television preferences of BUST staffers differ (ie. Callie gravitates towards reality shows like Miss Rap Supreme and So you think you can dance? while Debbie and Laurie love 30-rock), MY addiction and uncontrollable love affair with television, while it be shitty, sub-par, teen drama or not, has moved my fellow co-workers to rightfully dub me TaraTV.

I have a confession to make: I have a strange affection for Governor Sarah Pailn. I mean, I find her really compelling and charasmatic. And that's difficult, because I really hate her politics. If you want to feel what I'm feeling, just imagine for a moment that Palin was on our side. Imagine that she was pro-choice, pro-environment, and all the rest of it.

Super excited to see Shirley Maclaine in the Coco Chanel bio pic on Lifetime this weekend and luckily this will not interfere with my 10 oclock date with Don Draper (Madmen!). I just love, love, love Shirley, have you ever read any of her new age books like Out on a Limb, or Dancing in the Light? She is a real gem, and I'm sure she'll do a great job with Ms. Chanel.

Thanks to Feminist Avengers for sending this to us.

Did anyone else out there read Eve Ensler's lacerating indictment of Sarah Palin this week in the Huffington Post ? If you missed it, here's a juicy excerpt: 'I don't like raging at women. I am a Feminist and have spent my life trying to build community, help empower women and stop violence against them. It is hard to write about Sarah Palin. This is why the Sarah Palin choice was all the more insidious and cynical. The people who made this choice count on the goodness and solidarity of Feminists.

My brother is pretty awesome and always tips me off to rad bands way before I ever would've heard about them. This weekend he dished the goods: Dreamdate is a two-gal-one-guy trio from Oakland, California and I can't stop listening to the tracks on their MySpace page. Luckily there's six of em up so I haven't memorized all the words. Yet. It's sweet-dreams indie pop at its finest, lo-fi love songs that remind me of The Aislers Set (one of my fave bands of the early 00s), and the Raincoats, the perfect makings for an end-of-summer road trip soundtrack.
