Check out this video of Karin Dreijer Andersson aka Fever Ray accepting an award in Sweden for best dance record. Known for never showing her face, I love how she keeps outdo-ing herself each time she goes on stage, this makes it sooo much more interesting, don't you think? This woman makes Gaga look positively tame! (plus her music is 100x more interesting, IMHO) LOVE IT.

Well Laurie, you were the one who called it first on this chick. Thanks for turning us all on to her. Forget Gaga (Caca) is what I've been telling everyone too. Her stuff is the same boring soulless dance crap Madonna, Janet, Britney, Kylie, Xtina, etc. all tire us with repeatedly. I also think Alison Goldfrapp & Karen O are on par with Miss Karin in their own way. I think I need to steal this vid for my FB wall.

I think I maybe would have screamed a little if I was the blonde broad handing her the microphone.
Completely amazing.
Completely amazing.

I love the reaction of the guys in the audience at about 1:05, pleasantly surprised!

She’s known for her ghoulish stage antics—goblin masks, face paint, fake blood—as much as she is for her erotic and macabre music. love her!

While this article is interesting, I don't understand why the author felt the need to pit Karin against Lady Gaga. They are both interesting, creative performers. Please don't make them "fight it out" simply because they are both female musicians. That attitude of "there's two women in the same field- they must be in competition" occurs all too frequently in our culture. I expect better from a smart, feminist magazine like BUST.

I agree, Isabel. Can we keep the imaginary between-girl fighting to a minimum please? Lady Gaga is amazing, and she's so vocal about supporting sexual equality. Do we really need to compare women artists? That seems like a tired media trick. I love Bust, but not this article.

I can only think of a few female performers who do this sort of wild theatrical stuff for their appearances, so it's valid to compare them. It's not pitting the female artists against each other, it's grouping them into a style, which is a necessary part of any review. Maybe it's easy to look for girl fights where there aren't any to be found?

I agree with Kelly McClure. It's perfectly fair to compare them as visual artists/musicians.
My thing about Gaga is that while I love the way she presents herself visually, her music kind of bores me and it's disappointing. If I liked her music, I would think she is amazing overall. But I dig watching her videos, which makes the music a lot more tolerable.
I've never heard Fever Ray - seems like I need to give them a listen! But I sure wish more women would dress like her at award shows. Then they might actually be interesting to watch (the shows, I mean).

Perplexed at someone's need to call announcer "the blonde broad."

Don't y'all have enough love in your hearts for Lady GaGa and Fever Ray? Live and let live ladies!

Cars and houses are quite expensive and not everyone is able to buy it. Nevertheless, personal loans was created to support people in such kind of situations.
