BETTY is the pop/performance band hailing from the cradle of creation known as New York City. Friends since childhood and artistic co-conspirators, Amy Ziff (Vocals, Cello, Piano), Elizabeth Ziff (Vocals, Guitar, Programming) and Alyson Palmer (Vocals, Bass, Percussion, Programming) have been recording, touring, performing, and creating together as independent artists for twenty-seven years. From their inception, BETTY has pushed the boundaries of pop music, utilizing their powerful, female, fun and fierce performance as an extension of their tight harmonies, breezy backbeats, and emphasis on melody. Whether composing and producing soundtracks for Television and film, playing live on any of their worldwide concert tours, arts festivals, and benefit shows, or simply singing accapella for University workshops, BETTY insists on a connection to the audience. BETTY aspires to bring the feelings of joy, love, heartbreak, hunger, sex and laughter through their music. BETTY has 9 CD’s as well as countless tracks on compilation cd’s. They have contributed music and theme songs to Showtime’s The L Word, Weeds, Ugly Betty and many others. They have performed in venues from Stockholm to Buenos Aires to Carnegie hall to the Harvey Milk High School in Manhattan. BETTY has performed with countless bands and speakers/artists including, Le Tigre, Cab Calloway, Gloria Steinem, Eve Ensler, The B-52’s, The Indigo Girls, James Brown, Bonnie Raitt and Circus Oz. Recently BETTY has become Arts Envoys for the U.S. State Department, performing and supporting LGBT and Women/Girls rights, Anti-bullying across the globe. BETTY is working on their 10th studio album due out in the spring
