If you’ve ever taken a moment to glance around a crowded subway or waiting room, chances are, there will be at least a handful of folks sporting the latest version of a Nook or Kindle. So what does fate hold for all of the books we've retired? Just ask the Montreal-based artist Guy Laramee, who created an entirely new way to enjoy old books by literally carving the pages into mind-blowing masterpieces, with an incredible attention to detail.  Check out these formerly obsolete texts after they’ve been granted a second chance:
