This organization will trade your volunteer time in exchange for paying down your student loans.  Yes, you read that right. SponsorChange has created a mutually-beneficial initiative that provides people power for high-impact non-profits in need, while simultaneously helping to relieve students of their ever-impending debt.  From the Take Part post on the topic:  Here's how it works: Graduates with student loan debt sign up to volunteer at organizations that need manpower. The grads help their community by putting in hours toward that organization's goals. Read More
At this point, if you are a feminist you are probably aware of the absurd squawkings of Phyllis Schlafly, the anti-ERA, hyper-conservative, anti-feminist activist--her most recent offense being an op-ed authored for the Christian Post about how us poor feminist are going to die alone if we get equal pay. I put on my headphones, pressed the massive plastic play button, and yelled to my mom "WOW IT'S LIKE MY LIFE HAS A SOUNDTRACK" with an enormous grin on my face. It was a magical afternoon. Read More
