Last night on Full Frontal, our favorite White House critic, Samantha Bee, went after Donald Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity who met for the second time yesterday. The mission of this committee is to investigate the 3 million illegal voters that Trump claimed caused him to lose the popular vote to Hillary Clinton in 2016. Despite no evidence to support that this claim, Donald J. Trump just refuses to let this shit go. Samantha Bee cracked, “Those mythical three million illegal voters are...

This week, the internet barfed with excitement at the news that Mindy Project mastermind and star Mindy Kaling is pregnant with her first child. Naturally, the entertainment world is salivating over the fact that Kaling is single and is not revealing who her child's father is. But here at BUST HQ, we're just happy for her, wishing her well, and enjoying imagining what a great mom she'll be — with or without a co-parent. The news also inspired us to revisit this cover story we did with...

Doctor Who has finally chosen a woman to play the Doctor after 12 men! Yup, that’s over 35 active years of women playing nothing more than sidekicks and love interests until now. Jodie Whittaker stars in the BBC hit show Broadchurch alongside two Doctor Who veterans. BBC announced her as the 13th Doctor through a video, and followed up with an interview so we could get to know our next Doctor a little better. In the interview, she addresses the question of a woman as...

The L Word has moved from dropping hints of a return to being officially in the works at Showtime. The show ended in 2009 after 6 seasons and the return is expected to have a new group of characters but three of the main women, Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig, and Leisha Hailey, will be returning as their original characters as well as executive producers. Other original characters may return, but it hasn’t been confirmed which ones. The show revolves around the lives of lesbian and...

Musician Kate Nash has dipped her toe into acting before. She appeared in 2013 British indie film Powder Room, which was written by a woman (Rachel Hirons, based on her play When Women Wee), directed by a woman (MJ Delaney), and featured an all-female cast including the superb Sheridan Smith. Soon after, in 2014, following a sleepless night in LA, Nash devised an online community via a YouTube channel titled Girl Gang, which was concerned with “outside empowerment” and giving women and feminist men a...

This week, we can't get enough of the new Netflix show GLOW, starring Alison Brie as a struggling actress who gets her big break when she's cast as one of the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. Watching Brie give her all on the mat inspired us to revisit this story we did with her for our Dec/Jan 2012 issue, back when she was still lighting up the small screen on Mad Men and Community. Enjoy this Flashback Friday reprint of our chat. Then prepare to Netflix 'n' chill. Uptown Girl from Mad Men to Community, Alison Brie lights up the most beloved shows on...

The X-Files has been confirmed for the 11th season that’ll be out in 2018, and they're already running into problems. Unfortunately, Chris Carter, X-Files creator, has filled the writer’s room entirely with men. That means that the fate of the iconic Dana Scully is in the hands of a bunch of male writers. On top of them all being men, a few of the writers seem a bit under-qualified. Chris Carter, Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong, veteran writers of the show, will be joined...

RuPaul’s Drag Race season nine had arguably the most competitive finalists in the show’s history, and perhaps the most diverse. Trinity was hilarious and quick-mouthed and stood out as a southern pageant queen with a killer body. Peppermint was outgoing and strong, always standing up for herself and dominating every lip sync challenge she was in, and proved drag is for trans women. Shea Couleé had a wide skillset throughout the competition and quickly became a judge-favorite through her impressive acting, dancing and sewing talents....

Poptarts is a twice-monthly podcast hosted by BUST Magazine editors Emily Rems and Callie Watts that celebrates women in pop culture. The first half of each episode is devoted to a hot topic in entertainment, and in the second half, a segment called "Whatcha Watchin'?," Callie and Emily dig into all the shows, movies, books, music, videos, and podcasts they've enjoyed since the last episode, and either praise or pan each experience. For our latest episode, we recorded in front of a live audience on Saturday, June 10, at Kinfolk...

Look, if you have a BFF, you know that even though you love that bitch, sometimes you need to get some things off your chest. And what better way to air out the dirty laundry than via passive-aggressive smoothie making? Need some guidance? Broad City has you covered. We see our favorite babes mixing up millennial ingredients like kale, bee pollen (so you live forever), coconut water (like Rihanna, bitch), and maca. Don’t know what maca is? Neither does Abbi, despite the fact that Ilana...
