Goodwood, a New York-based jewelery and trinket line, features classic hip-hop style pendants (as well as whimsical pieces like this dapper little fellow) carved out of the decidedly non-bling medium of wood. Worn by such luminaries as Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Kanye's main squeeze (or are they broken up?) Amber Rose, and rising star Justin Bieber, these pieces could also make a great gift for a BFF/Secret Santa/lover. Stop by Coat of Arms on Black Friday for the sale, happening from 12-8pm at 43 Clinton Street in NYC and check out items up to 50% off.   Ahhh…Thanksgiving, the first link on the proverbial winter holiday chain of events.  A time when biological families and selective families gather round to indulge in gluttony in it's most jovial form, and scroll down the list of people, places and things they are so grateful for.  Personally, my turkey day traditions have gotten a little stale over the years. Seeing the same spread of green beans, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce and of course turkey in it's most conservative layout can be rather uninspiring. "Thankfully", Chow. Read More
As far as I’m concerned, there is little to nothing not worth analyzing when it comes to pop culture. All our trends, fads, and institutions are reflective of what we value as a society, and one of society’s major indicators is….models! Let us briefly explore the models of the 90’s, who would, most likely, never in a million years be models today, as their looks are currently “out. Read More
Are you counting down the days until BUST’s London Craftacular on Sunday? Because there are only 5 days left! Since she was 17, Beyoncé has shown us how talented, beautiful, and sexy she is. She is the woman who unapologetically tells men that she's too bootylicious for them and that if they liked it, well, then they should have put a ring on it. Hit after hit, jackpot upon jackpot, she seamlessly embodies confidence, creativity, and power. With sixteen Grammy awards and two Golden Globe nominations under her belt, it's no small wonder that Forbes and Time magazine included her on their lists of the 100 Most Powerful People in the world. Female celebrity musicians generally look as though they get along, but last night there was a rift. They seemed to sense a threat. Rhianna, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha all reportedly acted like they were friends with rap artist Nicki Minaj, and then started taunting her. Each groped her butt and then laughed about how fake it was. This was Nicki’s first time at the American Music Awards, and I doubt she expected such a two-faced welcome from her fellow female artists. According to the source: “You could see the hurt on Nicki’s face.” I’d be hurt too. Read More
Lena Dunham's film Tiny Furniture (written and directed by and starring Dunham, 24) is out now and has been met with excellent reviews. The movie is currently playing only in New York, but you can catch a number of Dunham's hilarious short films on her website http://www.lenadunham.com. Check out "The Hostess With The Leastest," which is described as what happens when a jerk tries to make a souffle. And watch my personal favorite, "Hooker on Campus," in which the then undergrad Dunham propositions her hipster peers. Read More
"The title Public Speaking means that I endorse that I speak publicly," Fran Lebowitz says in the sneak peek of Martin Scorsese's doc about her career, "it's not a general directive… For a general directive, I really advise public listening." I think Fran's on to something. Check out the trailer and her interview with Joy Behar after the jump, and be sure to check out the premiere of Public Speaking, tonight on HBO at 10 PM EST. Read More

Only one week until the London Craftacular! If you’re planning on attending, look for Glazed and Confused Ceramics, pretty ceramics made and designed by Tana West.
