OK young 'uns, listen up. A long, long, time ago, in a dark age before Twitter, there was an era called the '90s that fostered a kind of weird ass music called acid house, and the best acid house band was the KLF . They produced one of my favorite party songs of that decade, ' Justified and Ancient,' a totally insane club banger that featured none other than country music legend Tammy Wynette . Despite my love of this song, however, the absolutely INSANE video they ... Read More
I snapped this photo outside of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum yesterday, and while I couldn't make the talk last night, I just wanted to give a belated shout-out to our sisters who died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911. The factory was a sweatshop employing young immigrant women who worked in sub par conditions for very little pay. The tragic deaths of 146 workers (including children) spurred safety and labor reform laws and also made the ... Read More

Lily + Jae's S/S lookbook

BY Lisa in Style File

Lily + Jae's spring/summer collection is so freaking cute it kinda kills me that i don't own every single dress, jumper, and button-down in it. What kills me even more is its sunshine daydreams of a lookbook. What I wouldn't give for a lakeside retreat in a vintage trailer. Click here to see all the summerific images. Be sure to check out our interview with Lily + Jae's super cool, down-to-earth designer Jude Feller in the new ish and keep an eye on her site...I ... Read More
While I bob-and-weave on the regular in New York City foot traffic, there are some fools I'd like to knock around physically (hell-o, slow-ass who made everyone miss the train!) I got to test the new Don King Boxing game for Nintendo Wii and immediately put it on my bday wishlist after, because I know it works. Instead of doing the 'scream into your pillow to get your anger out' bit (I mean, really, who does that!?), I was really able to work some steam off via ... Read More
