Mmmmmmm Ward.

BY Lisa in General

I've always been a fan of this Portland, OR, based crooner's scratchy voice and rockin' piano/guitar skills, so getting to see him last night at the Apollo (not nearly as big as it looks on TV! Who knew?) was nothing short of awesome. He played a few slow jams by himself, opening with the title track, 'Hold Time,' off his brand new album, then rocked out with his band and even brought a few members of Brooklyn Americana crew Oakley Hall out on stage (loved those ladies' harmonies!). In anticipation for their upcoming album, It's Blitz!, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released a brand new track, Zero, and it's available for streaming on their myspace! According to the band, the new record is way more experimental than previous releases. I'm willing to bet it's going to be another outstanding production from one of our favorite rock bands. Read More
