Let me see ya grill!

BY Dawn in General

This is perhaps one of the greatest gifts I've ever been bestowed upon. Grillz Candy! YEP! It's like a lollipop, but instead of a stick, you hold it with your new blinged out grillz that clip to the front of your teeth. These totally kick the ring pop's ass. I'm saving mine for the next Drunky Brewster show. ... Read More

Ever since the publication of ‘Skinny Bitch’, it seems to me like this crazy new fad diet called ‘veganism’ has been popping up all over the mainstream media,* from strip clubs to punk rock cooking shows to the exploding going green movement to America's Sweetheart Oprah to even (cue suspenseful music) feminism! With all the good press veganism has gotten lately, much of the bad press is fading into the background, such as veganism ... Read More

Sugarcraft, an exhibition of over 50 artists from all over the world opens June 27th at Kasia Kay Art Projects in Chicago and runs through till August 9th.  The theme of the exhibit focuses on indulgence in the arts and it also breaks down the boundaries between art and craft. For example, one artist “invokes a cake’s frosted layers as a personal symbol of subtle inter-familial divisions.” This exhibit gives entirely new meaning to the term ... Read More

KFC chickens out

BY Dawn in General

In response to pressures from PETA, KFC Canada has given into their demands to start offering vegan options on their menu. "Un-chicken" nuggets will soon be available in the Canada locations. But really, would any serious vegetarian really need or want to even step foot in a KFC? I've been fortunate to have lived in cities like San Francisco and New York, where I have never found myself without plenty of meat-free options, and I realize not everyone ... Read More

The worst feeling during the summer is having my body stick to leather, whether it's car seats, leather corsets during S&M night at the local rave, or purses. That's why the number one item on my summer shopping list is a lightweight purse. These two bags from Kid Robot do well to hold all my junk while still giving some flair to my outfits. They also have a bazillion pockets held either by zippers or my personal favorite, magnets. Keep cool during this ... Read More
This friday night at the knitting factory, there will be a special, one time only reuninon of Lydia Lunch's late 70's band Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. Lunch was a seminal spoken word perfromer, punk, poet, and actress of the underground NYC downtown scene in the 80's amd 90's, and her work has always been smart, sarcastic, violent and confrontational. One of my very favorite records that I played incessantly in college in the early 80's was "Queen of ... Read More
That is me in the sweet green dress, next to my predicted winner Rece Steele. Over my right shoulder is my girl Mac Tyi, she just dropped a new single. Hedonis is behind me and Lady Merk is next to Chiba cut off. I told you about those girls in blogs past. Looking at this picture me and Rece could be twins, similar hair, smile, gold chains. No wonder they didn't put me on, it would be to confusing. I also heard through the grapevine ... Read More
